If you have an acute case of  bloody Diarrhea and suspicious of an E.Coli infection, be forewarned that the most common antibiotics prescribed such as Cipro (fluoroquinoles) can make one very ill.

Why, many common antibiotics are effective in killing the bacteria however E. Coli when it dies, it releases large amounts of bio-toxins.  The appropriate medication to take are a classification of  antibiotics called carbapenems. 

Your physician probably knows this fact however if one is traveling overseas and considers taking an antibiotic prophylacticly you may very well inadvertently create an an acute problem landing you in the hospital and ruining your vacation!
