What is Neural Organization Work
Neural Organization Work (N.O.W.), also known as advanced Neural Organization Technique (N.O.T.)  is a context for clinical thinking based in Applied Kinesiology.
                                                      ~
A foundational concept of N.O.W. incorporates a philosophy that our nervous system functions through pre-programmed reflexes within the survival systems of fight/flight, feeding, reproduction, and immune.   These reflex systems represent the maturation of our "retained"  primitive reflexes present in utero that mature and further develop into survival systems.  Our health depends on how well these systems are maintained in their ability to receive, process and respond to sensory information as well as adapt to a constantly changing environment of both internal and external stressors.

Neural Organization Technique is both a diagnostic and treatment methodology designed to address many of our present-day health issues.
~
The founding neurological principle behind N.O.T. is the evaluation and therapeutic reintegration of aberrations in the Vestibular System and its effects on walking Gait, Central and Peripheral Nervous System.
~
Treatment utilizes a sensory receptor-based therapy involving primarily skin surface reflexes to create sensory motor integration designed to normalize nervous system function.  This mode of therapy requires a low tech approach i.e. hands individualized therapy. This method is also referred to as "Functional Neurology".
~
Neural Organization Work holds as its premise that everything that happens to us on a physical, chemical, or emotional level must be processed through one or more of the basic survival systems.  Our reaction to these stimuli will not be random but one of a chain reaction of neuro-biochemical events designed to compensate and maximize our survivability.  Our nervous system will  accomplish and navigate this compensatory state by constantly monitoring both the internal and external environment.  Much of the sensory input is processed subconscious utilizing a vast array of information gathering sensors in our skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments called mechano-receptors or commonly referenced as proprioceptors.

Receptor based therapies such as applied kinesiology, offer the practitioner ability to re-modulate/re-calibrate aberrant sensory input receptors before they travel to the Central Nervous System resulting in an adaptive compensatory state, i.e. Functional Neurology.

Scoliosis is a classic example of the application of  Neural Organization Technique. Traditionally adolescent scoliosis (the most common form of scoliosis) is recognized in N.O.T. as an adaptive reactive muscle imbalance.  The condition of scoliosis is interpreted not as an disease or a random event but as a natural compensation for an aberrant (walking) gait resulting from aberrant sensory regulatory mechanisms. A successful treatment outcome is now possible with this understanding.  Click on this link for further explanation.

My goal is to optimize these survival systems by identifying compensatory states and remove the ones that are no longer needed. This approach is beneficial in addressing a wide variety of health issues ranging from scoliosis /poorly responding Musculo-skeletal conditions, neurological disorders to systemic conditions including toxicities and persistent microbial infections and emotional overlays.

Neural Organization Work and Applied Kinesiology methods are unique in their ability to restore normal/optimal function within these regulatory mechanism. Follow this link to listen to a short video of the thought process used by Applied Kinesiologists.

My theme is to address the concerns of my patients in a swift and cost efficient manner. This may and often requires a team approach in coordination with your present health care provider. I am willing to communicate and work with other providers in an effort to maximize your swift return to health.  This is what patient centered care is all about ...you!

“The body heals itself in a sure, sensible, practical, reasonable, and observable manner. ‘The healer within’ can be approached from without. The opportunity to use the body as an instrument of laboratory analysis is unparalleled in modern therapy; if one approaches the problem correctly, making the proper and adequate diagnosis and treatment, the response is satisfactory to both the doctor and the patient.”

-George J. Goodheart, Jr. D.C., DIBAK  (Founder of Applied Kinesiology 1965)
WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC

Definition of Chiropractic from Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary 28th Edition (W.B. Sanders)

"...a science of applied physiologic diagnosis based on the theory that health and disease are life processes related to to the function of the nervous system by mechanical, chemical, or psychic factors is the cause of disease; restoration of and maintenance of health depend on normal function of the nervous system.  Diagnosis is the identification of these noxious irritants and treatment is their removal by the most conservative method."
Definitions:

Reflexes:  are the feedback response to a stimulus either external from our environment or internal from our organs/glands.

Primitive Reflexes: relate to ...movement integration, auditory integration, visual integration, oral-facial integration, tactile integration, and sensory integration.

Reflexes ...facilitate timing, symmetric, direction of muscle movement and activation and integration of glandular activity.

A similar methodology to Neural Organization Work (N.O.W.) is MNRI
(Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration)

MNRI works on the same principle of primitive reflexes well explained in the YouTube video picture link below:
